Root Canals

Root Canals

We love to save your teeth! Whenever possible, we will help you save every tooth that can be saved. That sometimes means that we recommend root canal therapy.

Why would you need root canal therapy? If a tooth is injured or if decay has reached the inner part of the tooth, it will probably need a root canal to preserve it.

Preserve Your Tooth with a Root Canal

How a Root Canal Is Done?

First, the top of the tooth is opened, just like when you get a filling. Then the soft tissue inside the tooth is cleaned out and the canal leading to the tip of the root is smoothed.

This canal is then filled with sterile material and the tooth is closed with a tooth-colored filling. A crown is recommended to protect this tooth and extend its life many years.
